54•40, Chris Buck Band to headline Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair

More than 30 artists to feature in ‘electrifying lineup of entertainment’ at 2024 rodeo

A pair of B.C. bands are headlining the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair this year.

54•40 and Chris Buck Band will both play shows on Sunday, May 19.

“We’re absolutely thrilled about this year’s lineup of talented performers,” said Kathy Sheppard, president of the Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Association.

The two B.C. bands help make up nearly three dozen artists brightening up five stages over Rodeo Weekend, May 17-20, 2024.

“Sunday night’s performances by Canadian music legends 54•40 and B.C.’s fastest rising country star, Chris Buck Band, will go down in history as one of the most exceptional evenings of music in the Country Fair’s history,” added Sheppard.

The 54•40 show is an all-ages affair. Entry is free with a general admission ticket to the Fairgrounds, which is only a tenner if bought before April 16, the last day of early-bird prices. (Kids 12 and under get free general admission.)

The Chris Buck Band will perform in the Longhorn Saloon and is a 19-plus event. Tickets cost $20 each, if purchased in advance, and are $25 at the Longhorn door. (Though organizers do expect Longhorn tickets to sell out in advance.)

“This year’s electrifying lineup of entertainment at the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair is one of a kind, featuring over 30 fantastic performances spanning the four-day event,” noted a press release for the music announcement.

Artists booked so far include: Dave Hartney Band, Tumblin’ Dice, Appaloosa, Eagle Eyes, Gaslighter - Songs of the Chicks, The Spirit of Shania - Tribute to Shania Twain, Johnny & June, and many others. A full list of performers can be found on the Association’s website at cloverdalerodeo.com.

Presented by JACK 96.9, 54•40 will play the Lordco Outdoor Stage beginning at 8:30 p.m. May 19. Later that night, at 10:30 p.m., Chris Buck Band will take the stage at the Longhorn Saloon.

The (Chris Buck Band) show will be “an up-close and personal experience” promised the press release. “Fans are encouraged to get their tickets well in advance as space is limited.”

Longhorn Saloon tickets are available online at showpass.com/longhorn-saloon-beat-the-line.

According to the release, “New artists are being added to the schedule regularly.” Performances usually start in the early afternoon and run all night. (The full schedule for all entertainment will be released at the beginning of May.)

The lineup will be updated as details are confirmed on the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair website.
