Surrey city council gave third-reading approval to a residential housing project in Whalley featuring a 22-storey tower and a six-storey low-rise building on Monday night.
Deer Lake Homes Ltd. plans to do a phased-in development containing 318 dwelling units with 58 of them for rent, at 13760, 13770, 13780, 13790 and 13806 - 101A Ave.
Several houses currently occupy the land.
“It’s great to see this many rental units coming into play, especially on this project,” Coun. Gordon Hepner said. “A good livable area when you get all those rental units in there.”
