“Here comes the Ax. And here comes the Smasher. The Demolition! Walking Disaster!”
That’s what wrestling fans will hear in the Longhorn Saloon over Rodeo Weekend, said Cory Toth, a member of the All Star Wrestling (ASW) management team.
All Star Wrestling is returning to the Cloverdale Rodeo this year and bringing with it the famous tag team duo Demolition. With them, fans will hear that iconic intro.
Demolition are former WWF World Tag Team Champions and still hold the record for being champs for the most combined number of days.
Along with the former champs, many other ASW stars will be featured in matches over the course of the weekend.
Demolition will battle for ring supremacy with a large number of wrestlers over five shows on Saturday (2), Sunday (2), and Monday (1).
“The Rodeo wrestling shows are for all ages,” said Toth, “from 2-99.”
The shows are tailored toward kids with no excessive levels of violence.
“Everyone wants to cheer on the good guys and boo the bad guys,” Toth added. “There will always be one wrestler that every fan will associate themselves with, either a female Muay Thai athlete, a gambling aficionado, the young upstart trying to make a name for himself, or the grizzled veteran trying to prevent someone from stealing his spot.”
Demolition will also host two “meet and greets,” one on May 18 and one on May 19, both scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
The high-flying wrestling battles at the Longhorn are free with admission to the Fairgrounds.
According to cloverdalerodeo.com, the wrestling shows in the Agriplex (Longhorn Saloon) offer “a chance to see the past, present and future of pro wrestling in B.C.”
The Agriplex will host five ASW events and two Demolition meet and greets:
